The MaX5 Championship 2009

One of the most exciting race series in the UK just got a whole lot more interesting! Mazda on Track are delighted to announce a new season of Max5 Racing for 2009. The MX-5 is 20 years old this year, so what better way to celebrate (for first time in UK motor racing history) than to assemble the entire 20 year history of this amazing sports car onto a race grid! It gets better than that, new roll cages are being designed for those without so that they can be fitted to ROAD LEGAL cars with hard tops so you can save money on expensive transport costs in a time when making savings are essential. Max5 is the godfather of MX-5 racing in the UK. It continues to attract the top names in MX-5 motorsport, and now partnered with Mazda on Track it continues to set the standard for superb racing, superb value, great grid numbers and of course the friendly social scene that Max5 has attracted over the years making this probably the best race series in the United Kingdom for beginners to the seasoned professional.

A history of Max5:

MaX5 Racing was formed in the summer of 2003, running a successful race series in 2004 gaining championship status for the 2005 season. The MaX5 Racing championship is based upon the original MX5 Championship run by Mazda in the UK in 1990/91 & the American spec Miata MX5 Championship, which is hugely successful and the fastest growing form of motorsport in the U.S. In the late stages of 2008, the decision to race with a grid spanning 20 year was approved by BARC and here we are now, ready for an awesome new event to an already incredible series! The best just got better!
