There can be a lot of questions if you've never been out on track before, so here is an ever expanding list of Q&A's.

Question 1: What is a Track day or a Car Control day?

A Track day is a non-competitive, controlled event where you can allowed to drive your car around a real established motor racing circuit or closed airfield without speed restrictions. We require that you hold a full driving licence, and that your car is road legal. Driving manners are expected to be high, and beginners are completely welcome.

Car Control days are designed to be fun, safe and also educational. As we run on a wide open space around cones there is also very little risk of impact damage to cars which naturally is of major concern to many participants. The actual driving activity runs from 10am to 4pm with a lunch break.

Question 2: What are the chances of damage to my car?

Very little! The common misconception is that track driving is more dangerous than road driving, but it is in fact the other way round. On track you have no oncoming traffic, run off areas, and a crash helmet for most events. We take every reasonable precaution in making sure you get your precious car home in one piece.

If you do spin off, circuits have soft foam walls and gravel traps in the most common 'error' points, but you should always be aware that there is a chance you may damage the car, and insure accordingly. If you would like to arrange insurance, please call the office and we can help you

On a car control day, the major wear will be your tyres - and if you hit a cone!

Question 3: Why is there a delivery for the event day?

The Mazda on Track Drivers Club offers big discounts for members on days. Members have a unique code to them which removes this cost. Join today to take advantage, save tomorrow!

Question 4: I'm worried I wont be fast enough on track!

Don't worry, people can talk the talk but only a few can walk the walk. You go at whatever speed you are comfortable with, the rules that we set for track driving mean that you will not get hassled by faster cars, and when there are 2 or more cars on track at once we remove all forms of competition by banning stop watch timing, and aggressive over taking. You never know, you may be seriously quick out there and put much more powerful cars or experienced drivers to shame!

Question 5: Do I have to bring a Mazda?

Our main focus is on tracks and event types suited to Mazda cars, but we have no problem with you bringing a non-Mazda car along.

Question 6: Do I need a crash helmet?

We ALWAYS advise wearing a helmet when on track, no matter what the event or speed. We will offer Helmet Hire on most days where they are needed. Most Mazda on Track events require you and your passenger to wear one due to our insurance agreement.

Question 7: I'm totally new to track driving.

You may find that our 'Welcome to Track' events are ideal for you to get started. Welcome to Track gives you a chance to drive one of our own specially tuned cars to get a good grounding on a completely empty track, then later when your confidence builds, we take you out in your own car and translate what you've learnt into practice!

Question 8: How do I use my Richard Eggar Insurance voucher?

Very simply. Let us know via email what ever you have purchased and we will refund the voucher immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I join and get a discount in the same order?

No, you need to join separately and wait for us to process your information before you can use the discount on our site.

Do I have to join to drive MoT events?

No, it just makes it better value for you if you do two or more events with us!

How long does it take before I can use the benefits of the MoTDC discount card?

We will endeavour to email you your membership details within 48 hours so you can start enjoying the benefits quickly. However it could take up to 10 working days before you receive your discount card.

Can I use my MoT discount for anything else?

We will announce more discounts as more suppliers come on board. If you are a supplier and you want to be involved, get in contact!

Does the Drivers Club card cover my partner?

Not directly. The membership only covers you. However, if you share a car, the extra driver price will often be included in the discount.

I really want to join the Drivers Club but I also need to get parts quickly, what can I do?

Call us on 0129 5771 831 and we will try to help.

What is the difference between an individual membership and a team one?

An individual membership is just that, it is for individuals to give them discount on events and parts for their own benefit.

Team membership is for groups up to four who own a team car that they collectively use at events. There is no discount on the event price, but no additional charge for the original named team drivers.

Can I use my MoTDC discount card to buy parts for friends?

No. We expect MoTDC members to operate within the bounds of “fair use”. If a disproportionate use of the card is noticed we will ask the members to clarify the use of the card. If we believe it is being used for customers other than the member we may cancel the card.

Can the team use the team membership to buy parts for their own personal cars?

No. The card is issued for the use of the team car and to reduce track costs and like the individual membership is subject to a fair use policy. If a disproportionate use of the card is noticed we will ask the members to clarify the use of the card. If we believe it is being used for customers other than the member we may cancel the card.
